Very solid-I like the moveable microphones

I have a DR-05X as well, but I do like the ability to move the mics around on this unit. It makes things easier when doing an interview, and I have even used it as a Podcast interface (one mic pointed at my guest, one mic pointed at me). It worked surprisingly well in that configuration. Did not come with a manual for some reason.

Very sensitive

I wanted something to replace my Sony ICD-UX70 Recorder. I needed a recorder that could capture lectures and conventions and could do a better job than my Sony. After researching different types, I decided on the Tascam DR-07X. I am very happy with my selection.

Great little audio recorder

I got this mainly to capture ambient sounds of nature (insects, bird songs, etc) to use in videos, and have been very happy with it.

Works well with Audacity.

Unlike the other reviews this worked out of the box for me on Windows 10 in Audacity as a USB mic. This is an excellent mic for my use case of voiceover and YouTube videos.

Awesome unit

I use it mostly to capture an alternate audio source for my video recording. It always sounds crisp and clear through the on-board speakers. When I use it as a recorder with a separate audio input (like a wireless lapel mic) it's 2nd to none. I put a 128GB Samsung microSD and I can basically record until the batteries go dead at full quality, days and days of recording if I use the MP3 quality. (but why?) The USB options (mic and power) make this an amazing upgrade from the previous model. Tascam always makes good products and this is no exception. Definitely glad I made the purchase.
