9/15/18 Update: We just received our second bag which lasts about 30 days feeding twice a day (per instructions) we've provided 2 scoops 2x day with her grain. Our mare LOVES it and licks her bucket clean. She has nearly recovered her weight in just over a month. I just wish I had dicovered this earlier. She should be at a really good, healthy weight in time for winter. We cant believe how shiny her coat is too! I plan to continue this as a general maintenance going forward. _________________________________________ I received my first supply of Manny Pro Weight Accelerator on the 31st of July and I can already see a difference. Crazy! I have a 32 yr old quarter horse that I've struggled with her weight each spring, and each year harder than the last. I feel like I've tried so many tactics without good results. This spring she lost a drastic amount of weight and it's taken a while to bring her back into condition. Well, it's only been a week and I am shocked. She is finally plumping back up in her haunches, ribs and back area. Her coat is gaining luster and she loves her food! She is done eating before my gelding, which NEVER happens. 42 year old Mule

This has done a wonderful job of helping me keep weight on my 42 year old mule this winter.. She is coming out of winter looking a lot better this year than last.. I will probably keep using it for the old gal through out the rest of her life.. Hope it's much longer!!!

Worth a try

So...if you are looking for a good weight gain supplement...I HIGHLY reccomend. A plus.....it's cheaper here than through other sites. My horse is a very picky eater...i soak her grain and add this in. She starting gaining weight within 3 weeks. I will never take my senior mare off of this!!!!! I am currently feeding 4 oz per day.

Worked wonders!

Had a older horse I couldn't put weight in no matter what I did. But this is what finally did the trick! She had a baby and that baby must have been sucking everything out of her! At the rate she was loosing i wasnt very hopeful she would make it through the winter! My vet and I decided after this the last option was to wean the foal at 3 months of age but I didnt wanna do that. This product made it so i didnt have too! I watched her close and made sure her system was handling it and she is getting 6 oz a day instead of the recommended 4 oz but this bag still goes a long ways!

Can't say enough about the Manna Pro Senior Weight Accelerator. Pretty much double the fat and half the protein of the other brands, which is exactly what the geriatric horse needs. I would say that I have tried nearly, if not every other brand of weight gainer on the market. My 32 year old mare was doing very poorly and the vet only gave her a month to live, until we started using this. She is old and already lived well past her time, but I am thankful for every healthy day she has left. I feel strongly she would have been gone over a year ago if I had not found the Manna Pro Senior.

Great for senior horses!

I bought this for my 22 year old mare, who had suddenly started losing weight, due to lack of good pasture and dusty old round bales of hay. My other horses are fine but she didn't do so well. In just three weeks she has gained back most of her weight and her coat is shiny, lustrous, with a mane that is finally growing ! I have also been feeding her a feed through daily wormer. I feel that this product has made a huge difference and plan to feed it through out the winter. 3 scoops a day along with 2 pounds of grain that is 14 percent protein. I like the small size of the bag vs big bags of Senior Feed. For one horse it's plenty for a month and so worth it.

Our 28 year old, still working, appendix is a really picky eater. Of all the weight gain products we have tried, this is his favorite! It has made keeping weight on this old guy much easier. He has multiple medical issues, like renal disease, colic prone, etc. that many older horses have. He likes this and has maintained his weight even in horrible cold.

Priceless for what you pay for it

After going through a hard winter and my sorely lacking knowledge in equine nutrition, my aging mare lost a noticeable amount of adipose fat and body condition (Went from a 5-4 to a 4-3 on the Henneke chart). After a few weeks of research and learning from my mentor, I stumbled across Manna Pro's SWA. I noticed that all of the ingredients in SWA (aside from the artificial caramel flavor, which is forgiveable) are quite a dream for older horses. Antioxidants Vitamin C and E to help stop arthritis, Omega-3 to reduce swelling, Protein for muscle building, Fats for restoration of adipose tissue, Biotin for skin and hoof health, and Probiotics to restore the horse's natural fiber-digesting process. And it doesn't interfere with the trace mineral supplement that I feed, and has turned out to be a wonderful addition to it. Bravo, Manna Pro! After only 4 months of steady, slow improvement, and proper care in addition to SWA, my mare is back to looking herself and seems happy to be back at work with our riding and adventuring. (Assuming you've already spoken with your equine veterinarian) here's a tip about getting the most out of SWA: Regardless of whether you're using this supplement or not, horses require exercise and constant access to quality, low sugar (less than 10%) hay. Being without constant access to fiber (hay and forage) is one reason why horses start to lose good body condition. Why? 1) Horses never stop producing stomach acid because (in the wild) they're always eating grass/forage. Without a constant supply of chewed grass and saliva in the stomach, the acid-dumping creates an acidic gut. 2) Horses naturally have a plethora of bacteria in their hind gut, much of it meant to ferment/break down fiber. This bacteria can't survive in an acidic gut. And if horses go for hours on end without hay or forage, these 'good' bacteria starve and die off (their dead matter causing further problems than just poor digestion). The probiotics in SWA help restore the healthy bacteria ('gut flora') to your horse's digestive system. (We humans eat yogurt to do that). BUT if you want to get the most out of SWA, you can't go right back to the old routine of your horse not having (low-sugar, high-fiber) hay for hours. Why? Because you'd not be keeping the probiotics alive; they'd die off as you could feed more SWA, and then you'd be creating a bunch of dead bacteria in your horse's gut. That might exacerbate the problem you started with or create a new one. Rehabilitating the digestive system (and your entire horse) starts with feeding and diet. I think everyone tries to do the best that they can and that's great! Hope this helps you take it to the next level!

IT WORKED ON TWO OF MY OLD GUYS!

If you are looking to add weight to some of your old guys this is the product for you to try. I have two retired show Quarter Horses, very old now and they got to the stage of "aging" and looking very poor even though they were fed all high quality feed and hay. I started both of them on this product, from Manna Pro and wish I had taken before and after pictures, because they put on enough weight to look young again. Everyone one who had seen these two for years were impressed when they saw them now. No problem with horses objecting to it either. They lapped it up like candy. Patience and adding this miracle product is all you need.

I am re-ordering this because my two senior mares have steadily gained the weight they needed, plus their fur became shiny again. They are more alert & energy picked up. I thought my 35 year old mare was finished giving little kids rides but when I started her on this, within a month she was happily giving her tiny riders, gentle, walking rides. She loves it.
