Great starter camcorder

While checking on some camera accessories I came across this little camcorder. I don’t have a lot of need to use anything more than my mobile most of the time but did want something I could stick on a tripod and record longer than a few minutes. I was surprised to see how well the night recording did in low to no light plus the 16x zoom, the wide angle - all worked really well. It doesn’t have video stabilization but that isn’t needed on a tripod. Comes with 2 batteries plus lots of accessories including a remote control. Recommend for anyone wanting a separate camcorder. And a great gift for that child or grandchild who wants to try their hand at filming.

Excellent camcorder for vloggers

The camcorder arrives in a sturdy box. The microphone is in a small, black velvet bag. The camcorder comes with its own carry case. The packaging is very pleasing aesthetically. It comes with two batteries. You do have to purchase an SD card separately which isn't a big deal. The camcorder is easy to pull out of the box, assemble and use. Adding the battery to the camcorder is easy. This camcorder is great for vloggers because it comes with a remote. It is easy to make professional looking videos by yourself. The camcorder has a touch screen so it is easy to navigate. My 8-year-old daughter especially likes the microphone. She picked the camcorder up and needed minimal instruction. The camcorder is lightweight. I took it on vacation and it takes up a small amount of space when packing. It has a variety of functions that are useful. It takes photos and videos. This camcorder has built-in WiFi. This camcorder is packed with features. I like the night time recording capability. I haven't used all the features yet but my daughter and I are having so much fun with this. Great buy.

Skeptical at first

I was hesitant about this purchase. Man am I glad I went for it. It is as described. It came with 2 batteries! The only issue I have is that the carrying case is only big enough for the camcorder itself with out the battery. I would like to have one that will hold everything it came with. Still giving 5 stars though. Great purchase!

Fast, compact, easily mountable on a tripod!!

I bought this camera so that I could do tutorials in the garage and backyard. Got tired of using my phone to record and then not being able to use my phone during the shoot. This camera works great. It mounts to a tripod easily and turns on quickly when you open the screen. Battery life is pretty good and there is optical zoom unlike your phone. The lens hood and microphone a nice touch not found on other cameras at this price. I am making a video about it, with samples from the camera. I will post that soon. I would buy this again.

Nice package with advanced features

Good cost x benefit. If you are looking for a cheap camera and not looking for the best image quality this one can do the trick. A lot of advanced features. It came in a nice package and came with a lot accessories, including an extra battery. It turns on an off very quickly, the mic is good and stereo. Image quality is much better in good sunlight, not that good indoors. It doesn’t seem to have a stabilization system, so a tripod is recommended. I think this one is a good option for kids and teens so you are not that worried if they break it.

Looks like a great tool for making a YouTube channel...just add a tripod!

4/4/19. I was very happy to receive this today! I’m in the process of starting a YouTube channel and I’m going to see if this camera and stereo microphone will be exactly what I need! This review is simply my initial impression and over the coming days as I get to make recordings I will post updates. Please see the photos. Very well presented. I haven’t had a camcorder ever since the iPhone came along but with my first attempt at a YouTube video, I saw the limitations of using the iPhone right away. It’s ok but I was frustrated with the audio and lack of features in iMovie and really felt I needed to use professional software and a professional setup. Back to this camcorder....what attracted me to it was the price, specs and the microphone. With the mike, I will be able to place it on a separate mini tripod near me while the camera is farther away. That’s really cool! The camera has a remote control so I can be my own director and the touchscreen will allow me to see that the camera is properly framing me. The camera uses a removable SD card (not included) and also has built in WiFi. That will make it easy to move the raw video to my laptop so I can make the edits for the YouTube video. I found the camera controls to be easy to use as well as the menu because the screen is a touchscreen. It’s very bright as well although it’s rainy today so I can’t test it in bright sun. It comes with two batteries and the camera plus battery fit in the case although it’s a tight fit. The case could be made slightly larger. Without the battery, the case is perfect. Check the pics. It’s comes with a Macro lens and the lens has covers for both sides, a sunshade and a pouch to store it in. Very well thought out! The mike also has a pouch too and it’s own internal battery. I don’t have an SD memory card handy so initially I’m not able to take a quick sample video but will tomorrow and post an update soon. The user manuals are somewhat easy to read, much better than expected. They should hire me to smooth out the English. It’s easy to know what is being said overall. And so far I’ve found the camera intuitive to use so I haven’t needed the manual yet. :-) That’s all for now! More to come!

Great little camera: Very good light control and good infra-red quality

Pros: Handles low light situations without sacrificing quality, easy button changes light sensitivity. Light and portable. Includes a lens hood to help eliminate lens flare. Easy to use. Video quality great for price range. Includes a wide angle lens. Includes a microphone with better quality than the camera (and includes gain control). Cons: Lens flare (see lens hood above lol). The Full HD quality is only at 30 fps, for my shooting I dropped down to 720 for 60 fps. For most shooting (i.e. an interview or subject that isn't moving a lot) 30fps will be adequate. The microphone is omni-directional, which means the operator does have to remain quite or they will be picked up ... works great if the operator is interviewing someone though - both will be heard.

Great Camera at a very reasonable price!!

Just so you know, I’m not a photography expert. I got this for filming my grand children. I have an IPhone but it really is not handy for filming recitals, sports, etc. I love the way you are able to zoom in and out without messing up what you are filming. The quality of the video is outstanding and the sound is amazing. It comes with a wide angle lens that is awesome for family get togethers. If you want an inexpensive option to phone videos, this is a great camera!! Enjoy!!
