Figured I would try these pants out but didn't expect too much. WOW! They fit great and there's plenty of room to get around in them. I used to work in Levis but they would split when I got into weird positions. These pants are feather light and will bend any which way you want to. Strong too. I was doing work on a ship in a tight space and something hung up on my pants and I heard a "pop!". I just knew the pants were torn. Checked for five minutes for the rip and was absolutely amazed I didn't find one. I even wear these pants in the Arctic under a survival suit. The strap in the back is useful. I can hang tools, flashlights, a marine radio, pens ... whatever and they are always securely within reach. Nice wide belt loops and there are extra ones which keep the belt in the right position without riding up. You can run a string through the bottom and blouse the pants too - though I really don't need this feature. Overall, these pants are great multi-taskers. I work in them and they fit and perform perfectly ... then I can jump on a plane and they look great there too. You can basically wear them anywhere and this has reduced my pack-load for the trips I do. I immediately ordered two more pair.

Solid, sturdy cargo points without the bulbulous pockets typically at what you would find at a tradition jeans store (Kohls, Gap) Pockets are all nicely cut, I really like the rear pockets which are diagonal, but deep, even without the velcro tab to close, your wallet sits low enough you never have to worry about pickpockets. These are definitely 3 season pants. If you live someplace with hot and / or humid conditions (I'd say anything over 75 - 80 degrees, these won't be a comfortable. 5.11 has a style call TT Pro Pants Lite, which are much better for warm conditions. I was fortunate there is a 5.11 not to far, and I was able to try on a few pairs to get the feel and size right. If you're borderline, go up 1 size. I'm at 38 - 40 and the 40's fit perfect. If I could have 2 improvements, I'd wish 5.11 would have included a pen pocket or two on the leg and a larger pocket for holding a phone. Unless you your current phone is pre-smart phone, the pocket will be too small for most phones

All of my blue jeans have gone the way of the dinosaurs...extinct! I wear nothing but tactical cargo pants now and the VAST majority are 5.11 TacLite poly blend or their 100% cotton pant brothers. The poly blend pant is great for hot, southern late spring and summer months and the cotton pant does late fall and winter duty. I wear them as casual dress and outdoor work attire, and the heavier cotton pant also doubles as hunting attire when in a fully enclosed blind or shoot house, as they are baggy enough and with the elasticized waist, allow UA or Duofold thermal wear without binding in the knee or butt or feeling too tight in the waist. I haven't noticed much of any fading on the TacLites but of course since the cotton pant stains easier and holds dirt and grime more than the poly blend TacLites, they are being washed differently and have faded a bit in the darker colors. Some of the pants are over four years old now and the only wear I have noticed is on the bottom hem at the heel from dragging the ground. Great gear, and well worth the price given how long they last, and the fit and finish.

These pants allow for more comfort and flexibility than anything else I've ever worn. They store my considerable EDC gear discreetly and so well I forget it's there. Access to items is rapid, easy, reliable, and I've never lost a thing in 3 years of wearing these pants EVERY SINGLE DAY. Retention rocks. With a good gunbelt and holster they make CCW of even my Glock 21 comfortable and easy to do. I my pepper spray, extendable baton, wallet, cell phone, keys and chain flashlight, push dagger, and leatherman wave all are carried without Batman's utility belt thanks to these pants. I hike, work, and do dress up in these, often in the same day. The comfort around the inner thigh and genital area improved my daily mood. My dozen pairs are all durable, with very few small rips over the years despite my outdoorsy, working class, prepper Alaskan lifestyle. They provide a much appreciated measure of protection from cuts and abrasions without that "work glove" feel. On the contrary, my skin loves the feel of these! In my experience the blue and black ones are less supportive in the waistband area and also less rugged (I didn't buy these all at once tho, over a 3 year period). The fabric is just a touch softer and a bit textured like velvety felt on the outside. Nice for show, but cottonwood and nature's nastiness stick to it more. The other colors are much smoother and let gunk not stick so readily. The khakis feel like they are a bit more supportive in the waistband and the most like a true military uniform, so they've become my favorites. Several friends have seen me wearing these pants daily and bought pairs themselves. These pants changed my life more than I ever thought a piece of clothing could. I'm a skeptical man, and I can't think of anything bad to say about them. Except 5.11 doen't make all the shirt colors to match all the pants!

I got these for my husband's birthday, and he has never been so happy to receive clothes. He is your typical guy, jeans a shirt through something over your feet and go. With these pants though he walks taller, and with a lot more confidence. They are water repellant, and extremely durable. They have plenty of pockets for spare magazines, knifes, pens, handcuff keys, and the list goes on. The rear pockets are deep, which is a good thing because when he sits down to drive his wallet doesn't need to be removed for comfort. They fit exactly as we expected and the length was perfect. They are cut just right to fit over boots or to sit on top of shoes. The belt loops are thick and wide enough for their 2 inch belt. The loops are also perfect spaced to keep an OWB holster exactly where you want it. These pants are exactly what we were hoping for, and we will definitely be ordering more. I highly recommend these pants to anyone who likes to do anything outdoors, not just shoot guns.

My husband has four pairs of these pants. He is a commercial truck salesman so he needs to look nice, but, he is also visiting customers work sites, walking around the truck lot, prepping vehicles for delivery etc. Typical khaki pants or dress pants wouldn't stand a chance. He really likes the durability, comfort, look and the multiple pockets in these pants. They wash up great and I hang them to dry...no ironing - yay! I actually had to discourage him from buying every color option available. Two of the pairs he has had for quite awhile and there has been zero fading in the color. Yes, these are considered tactical pants and he does wear them when he goes shooting too, it was the reason he bought them in the first place. He just found them to be such great pants that he prefers them over others. He is 6'4 and 210lbs. He bought the 36-34L and they fit perfectly. I asked him if he would recommend them to others and his reply was "hell yes" They have these for woman also and I have two pair. I wear them for shooting and hiking in the fall...they really are great pants! You can't beat the price on Amazon either.

I started wearing these 24/7 about a year back and since then have gotten almost every appealing color in these. They’re tough, semi-water resistant, abundant in pockets, and perfect for those who wear boots or hiking shoes. On top of that, they just look great (not like most tactical pants that are too big or odd looking). Outside of jeans, I see me wearing these and other 5.11 pants past my 20s; easily lmao. I’m 5’ 11” @ 175lb. (athletic build), and these fit perfect with just the right amount of leg length to go over and sit on my boots and hiking shoes neatly even with my belt tight. Oh, DO NOT machine dry these. Please hang dry. I did just a short low-temp dry on my olive drab ones and they got way too soft and less resistant to moisture afterwards lol. Still great and didn’t shrink, but they don’t feel the same when softer...

I was looking for cargo pants and stumbled on the 5.11s. I must say that I am very impressed with the utility and durability of 5.11s in general though the TacLite seems to work better for me. Most corporations have adopted a business casual attire policy. If you can find pants that you can wash at home that bear up well after many washings, it will help keep household expenses down. Because I have no problem getting the dirty work done, I need pants that both look professional in the office but won't easily be torn up. The problem I have been having is that after six months, of weekly or bi-weekly washing, other pants get a faded look and need to be retired from office use. The 5.11 TacLites, so far have put up with my rough use and still look professional. As an added bonus, the extra pockets allow me to carry keys, wallet, tools and various pieces of technology with out the bulgy look or discomfort of crammed pockets or sitting on a wallet. Value to me as a customer is a function of utility, durability and cost. 5.11 TacLites are a great value.

OK when you work at a police academy and teach firearms at an outdoor range in Florida, the pants you use have to be tough, and able to be both warm and cool. These fit that bill! I wear these daily as my training uniform, I put them through the ringer and they hold up great and are very well made and comfortable. I will not wear any other pants for work. I never have to iron them, they come out of the dry and hang to get a nice clean line in them. I have been wearing these for at least 10 years or more now. I only have to buy new ones every three years or so, and for pants to last 3 years with me is a accomplishment! As you can see in the photo, I put them through a bit of rough stuff now and then, yet they look just as good now as when I bought them. I highly recommend these pants for anyone looking for some good, nice looking, comfortable, rugged pants. With the right shirt these can even be rather dressy, but mine are used as part of my daily uniform for work. While I have had to buy shirts almost every year, these outlast my shirts. I like the added fabric at the bottom of the front pockets for knife clips. This keeps the pants pocket edges from fraying from the clips. Plenty of pockets for almost anything, the front left pocket is my spare magazine pocket, and the right front slit pocket is great for knifes, extra fabric in the knees and the crotch is cut to give free range of movement. If you want a really durable, well built, long lasting pant for range or work, these are the ones! UPDATE! 09/01/2018 - I bought these pants 3 tears ago, and I am still using them, and they are still completely good to go! Amazing for me as I wear them every day. I am getting ready to order a couple more since I have stained a couple of pair with oil from gun cleaning, and also from some really nasty mud, I was rolling around in. Even then, they held up well and stains would not have been a problem, but I let them sit instead of washing them. I still recommend them and will continue to wear them every day!

I low-sided (fell off) my motorcycle when it went into a skid thru a wide algae-plagued puddle in Cow Creek at Marble Falls and hit the ground in a painful 10-15mph slide. Miraculously and thankfully I had no broken bones but took a couple weeks to recover from an intense ankle sprain injury as well as road rash on my arm and torso. The 5.11 pants were discolored and severely distressed although not straight out shredded, which I promptly replaced with another pair. These pants protected me from any road rash on my legs, thighs or feet. I'm positive had I been wearing my stretch-elastane jeans that I'd have sustained much worse road rash on my lower body. Surely these pants offer no impact protection, but they protected me from road rash in a low-side motorcycle accident.
