These adapters are very well designed and work great on my new 2018 MacBook Pro 13" After purchase I read that poorly designed Type C products can fry your laptop "USB-C" ports. I contacted the Syntech Team about my concerns and a representative contacted the next day with the following information........Hello, The 56k ohm resistor is build in and they are designed as USB-IF standards. Kind regards, Doris Syntech not only has exceptional high quality products, but also good customer service. I won't hesitate to buy from them for my future needs.

I bought this adapter to adapt my regular USB flash drives to my MacBook Air 2018 model, which only has USB-C ports. I did buy another adapter that had several types of ports in it, but I wanted something a little less bulky for everyday use. On the 2018 MacBook Air, both ports are side by side on the left side of the computer. These are a little too wide to put two adapters side by side in the ports, but I can plug one adapter in next to the power cord that came with the MacBook. I am satisfied with this item.

Apple suddenly turned the tables on its customers by switching to USB-C connectors in its new 2018 iPad Pro models. Those of you who are like me who own really nice cables and want to take advantage of the new 18w USB-C power plug will need a way to adapt from USB-A to USB-C. These small adapters (there are two in the box) are perfect for that transition. I simply attached one of these to the new 18w charger that is included with the 2018 iPad Pro. I then used my current USB-A connector (that was compatible with the older 12w charger) and plugged it into the adapter. Perfect connection and there was no depreciation in the power. My new iPad powered itself perfectly. It's a great solution when you have a nice USB-A cable that you don't want to sacrifice. All you need is to adapt to the new standard and these adapters do the job very nicely. Very cheap method of solving a technology upgrade issue. I do not hesitate to recommend these to you.

The top complaint about the new MacBook Pros is the lack of legacy ports to use all the equipment you already own and need. I have a larger multi-port adapter with multiple USB1 and other ports, but it is large and hard to carry around. I often need to connect a USB thumb-drive or other USB device but don't want to carry the large adapter. The Syntech adapter is the same size as the exposed metal insert part of a USB1 connector. Tiny, light and easy to carry. You can even leave it connected to the USB device and just plug into the existing USBc connector built into the computer. They are also extremely inexpensive and about $5 each or less. I have used them with almost every UBS1 device I have from hard drives to devices like a Cricut maker. The adapter works perfectly and passes power to the devices that require it. I plan to order a few more and just leave them attached to the devices so I can use them as easily as I did with my old MacBook Pro that have 3 USB1 connections.

Great USB-C adapters. Got two and they have worked with every peripheral so far. My only gripe is that you can’t use them both side-by-side on a 2017 MacBook Pro 15”. That’s not a fault of the adapter, rather the close proximity of the C ports on the laptop and the much larger size of the traditional USB port. These are very minimalistic and don’t have lots of extra space going to waste. They work perfectly in one port if a normal USB-C cord is plugged in to the neighboring slot. In other words, you can utilize one on each side if needed (a wireless mouse receiver and printer cable for example) as long as the other ports have like the Apple power cable plugged in and like a USB-C SSD drive. As long as you don’t need to convert more than 2 ports at a time (again, assuming the MBP setup mentioned above), your good!

Apple computers come from the future, which means that sometimes they can leave you feeling unloved and left in the dark with today's most useful bits and pieces. Need a handy USB port for that essential stuff you own? Sorry, you're out of luck and that's just too bad. This handy widget makes your laptop useful again in the actual real world, and it works great. I thought that the low, low price was for just one of these thingys- I was even happier when TWO of them arrived. OK, so Apple let you down. Syntech makes it better. Buy now and be glad.

I got a pair of these for my wife’s new MacBook Pro. It only has USB C formatted ports. In order to transfer her old files, I extracted the SSD from her unibody MBP and inserted it in a USB 3 case, which I connected to the new MBP with a USB3 cable, which connected to the new machine via one of these converters. It moved over 200GB at 200-300MB/S. Not bad! I have uploaded a photo. I purchased another pair already because at this price I will tape one of these converted on to the end of each of her USB peripheral cables for ease of use.

These little gems work great on my '16 Macbook Pro and '18 Mac Mini. I bought two to see if I could file off the sides so they will fit side-by-side (they don't normally and this is their biggest fault.) So I used my Dremmel to shave off .025 off of one side on each adapter, so now they fit fine on both my Macbook and Mini. Because of this, I'm planning to order 2 more so I can use 4 in a row on my Mini. For the Macbook, you only need to shave down 1 side on each adapter. However I'm going to need to shave 2 sides on 2 adapters and 1 side on 2 adapters to be able to fit 4-in-a-row on my Mini. If you're handy, it's easy : - )

I originally purchased a different brand due to the fact that I wanted the hub to connect to Apple Cinema display (thins one doesn't). However, that hub did not work out well. So among the pletora of USB-C Hubs with similar functionality and price this one always got overlooked due to its funky name (Totu). However, I ended up following the glowing reviews and boy was this one a great score. I used it several times plugged on the USB-C power while I did TimeMachine backups (over network cable) and hundreds if gigabytes transfer between two USB 3.0 devices and the hub barely warmed up. The speed of transfer was always good. Overall, this came in a nice packaging and the build material is definitely of good quality. All the ports fit tightly and have a sturdy feel to it. Three thumbs up!!!
