This light is outstanding!!! We have two of them. The plants love them and the fish seem to like the lights too. This has been the best purchase for our planter tanks.

My regular aquarium bulbs were only lasting a week. I bought this and have loved it. I absolutely love the automatic 24 hour natural light feature. It is super bright. I can actually see my fishies and snails now. It is going to help so much with cleaning too. To other aquarium owners, you should absolutely get this product. I finally ditched the money pit fixture and light bulbs I had from Aqueon. A++++++++++++.

Likes: *The remote has a lot of functionality. *You don't need to be 1 foot away from the remote sensor for the remote to work. *The 24/7 option is by far the coolest feature because with one button press you can set and forget it. With the different light levels (low in the morning, high at noon and low again at night it will reduce algae build up in the tank vs running white lights 100% throughout the day. *The aluminum housing feels solid and will keep the LEDS cooler than plastic. *There is an on and off switch on the side of the casing which some lights with remotes don't have. *The extendable brackets that mount the light to the tank no longer come out (fall out) *10 Brightness levels on the remote for each colour Dislikes: * I wish there were another row of RGB LEDS to help compensate for the brightness of the white LEDS. Once you are passed a few levels of brightness with the white you can no longer see the RGB colours very well. So to see red, green, blue or any shade in between the white has to be off or very low. *The remote sensor wire comes out of the opposite side of the power wire. This isn't ideal for my setup but not a huge problem either. ***update review*** I had an issue with the light but Nicrew went out of their way with customer service to help me. Very satisfied customer. Will be a return customer

Better than expected! Love the 24hr cycle feature!! Highly recommend!

The light turned on and worked as usual until about 10 minutes later when the lights begin to flicker. Eventually the whole device turned off and when I went to check the connectors it's sprung back on, letting me know something is probably not soldered correctly. Flash the few times and finally it died. I probably got lucky and got a defective one. The power supply blinks dimly when the device is on and has a solid green light when it's turned off. I think it's has something to do with the power supply there's some reviews have stated having issues with them. nonetheless the light seems really cool and bright and all the flexibility and customizability of the colors is really awesome. I look forward to getting my replacement so I can truly test out this product. On another note oh, I did put in a request shortly after I received it for a replacement and that request is still being processed. If I had bought it again it would have got instantly so I don't understand why it's going to take 2 days to ship out. Since it should be instantly because the company should try to rectify issues with broken units faster than initial orders. On another note. The device construction seems a little flimsy and cheap materials look to be used. Other than that it is pretty cheap when considering some other reputable lights and how expensive they are. You buy what'd you get.

The light provides the best light of any fixture or fixtures I have ever owned. Let me start with the "Super Side" of the product. I bought this fixture in hopes that it would fit on a new Aqueon® 54 Gallon Corner Aquarium. I removed the metal legs and the unit lays perfectly on the jump glass. Let me start off with the simple questions before I get into more details. "Yes I would buy the product again!" The amount of illumination it produces is simply the best I have ever experienced and seem to leave no dark areas in the tank. I love the "24 hour" light programming so the critters enjoy a more real life home. As money permits, I will begin changing my other 6 other tanks to this product. Now the rest of the story . . . I bought the fixture base on the amount of lights it had in it, the different color LEDs it was built with and that the sales pitch included the line about being for a "Planted" aquarium. While the new tank has fish from 2 smaller tanks, it has only been setup for about a week and I will need at least a month to see it the plants are actually growing. I have been challenged for years trying to keep live plants growing with my Cichlids. I found plants that Cichlids do not like to eat and now with this light I will need to wait and see if they actually grow. I gave up plastic plants because the fish just shredding them in a very short amount of time leaving trash floating in the tank and messing up filters. At first I was not sure if the 24 Hour Cycle for the light would do what I wanted. Well, it turns out that if functions very well. It is fun to watch the illumination go from Moon Light Blue and simulate an actual Sun rise and set and changes colors as it goes through its cycle. Wish List: 1) There needs to be some type of extendable light screen that can be placed between the fixture and the top of the glass. I am sure that had I been able to use the metal legs that came with the light, the amount of light streaming out around the fixture in its elevated position, it would become an annoyance the anyone's eyes as they looked at the tank. This light streaming issue that exists also exists with many of the other products in the market place. 2) The lightening and other effects sounded exciting, but found they were not in my real world needs. The lightening does to the fish the same as what it does to dogs and humans . . . it puts us into panic modes and in the meantime the tank is dark. As a simple human, i prefer bright sunny days. 3) The 24 Hour Cycle is perfect except that it is not based on a real time clock and the from what I have been able to read, there is no battery to keep the time of day and when power goes out . . . so does your 24 hour cycle. 4) Having access to modify the color of the light sounded really cool, but now that I have played with it the only practical application would be it the tank were in a dark restaurant or pub where you might want to create a strange look. The color modification can be stored in a temporary memory, but are lost if you go back to the 24 Hour Cycle. If you are like me and want to give you critters something as close to real life Sun as you can, this is definitely the product!

NICREW really knocked it out of the park on this one. After spending hours that turned into days that turned into weeks of research to find the appropriate light to adequately grow plants this gem popped up on Amazon and I ordered immediately. Unless you're some rich person, you look at these lights that cost $180-300 as kind of cost prohibitive. Especially when you spread those costs across several tanks. This light is comparable to the Finnex 24/7. The remotes are virtually the same. The cycle of sunrise to sunset has greatly enhanced the colors of my fish. It's seriously almost like I have new fish in there. I have Australian rainbows, which definitely seem dull under normal light but with this light their color is amazing. Same for my cardinals and bolivian ram. I have the 30-36 inch model on a standard black plastic hood. The light fits perfectly across that light opening in the middle of the hood, so all the light penetrates. I thought it would be necessary to get a glass lid, but skip it. In the middle, on the castle I have some type of Bolbitis that was dying off and giving new stems from the rhizome. Since getting this light, those once bare stems are now giving off leaves and fairly quickly. All of my other plants are doing just splendidly including Amazon swords (wow, several new leafs since using this light), a banana plant, and some hornwort. What I love about this light the most is how it has reinvigorated my interest in this tank. No matter the time of day, its like you're looking at a different tank because of the 24/7 cycle. I don't want to say this is a "negative" but the remote is a little confusing to use but I think I've got the hang of it. Plus, if you have live plants, you're not going to be screwing with the time all that much anyway; so its no big deal. So, thank you NICREW for providing a quality and extremely affordable option in the aquarium LED market. I would recommend this light to anyone. I even told my LFS to try to sell these lights. I will be buying another one soon. I just hope the price doesn't go up too much!

Very nice lighting easy to use really brings out the colors in my African cichlid tank

This light is great aquarium animals that need light but not a lot of light. It is adjustable both in size and lighting! Very happy with it!
