I was skeptical about buying this because I have tried so many holders and they are either to hard, to soft, to high or two low. This was the right size, it holds my 9.7 inch screen iPad and I can put it anywhere, has 3 different angles for your device, book or phone. It lets you sit your device straight up, slightly back and has a lower back. I can even put it on my lap without having to slouch over. I can lay on my side and have it at an angle without my device sliding over. It has the cupped area at the bottom so you device stays secure but doesn’t restrict you from using your whole device like most holders do. It’s soft and sturdy, just stiff enough for sturdiness. It’s not small at all and it’s not huge at all, it’s just right. BEST INVENTION EVER, YOU SAVED MY BACK AND LIFE! Thank you!

While the price point was a little high, I am still glad I purchased this. I have tried other various tablet pillows and lap desks to accommodate my tablet use along with reading books and magazines, and nothing really suited my picky tastes very well. I saw this on here months ago when doing a search for this product category, and put it into my wish list. For months I went back and forth trying to decide whether or not to get it, and now I am very glad I did! Yes, it is a little on the expensive side for this type of product, but the innovation of having multiple angles that suit ME cannot be beat. In order to achieve this prior to purchase, I would have to use multiple pillows in addition to an iPad case that I didn't really like. Now I just have a simple case and one pillow to use for everything. My magazines don't try to fold backwards on me using this pillow, unlike the last one I bought.

I have been on the lookout for the perfect lap stand for my tablets, and this is the closest to perfection I've found. Yes, it's a little pricey, but then, there's really nothing else quite like it on the market. I've tried several lap stands, and what they all share in common, is instability. I have a bad case of carpel tunnel and need a lap stand that can bear almost all of my tablet's weight and hold it upright securely, so I can swipe and poke the screen without any wobbling. Apparently, all of that is a tall order for a lap stand, but this one manages to do the trick. Flipy is basically a triangular piece of foam with ledges on all 3 sides for your tablet to rest upon. Each of the 3 sides offers a slightly different viewing angle and I'm partial to the one that holds the tablet almost completely vertical. The foam is covered by a soft fabric with a zipper closure. The fabric feels soft and a little velvety. There's a lot of loose fibers and threads from the factory, but nothing that's a deal breaker. I wish the zipper pull tucked away better and remained more hidden, but that's just my personal preference. As it is, it's sort of in the way for my taste. I'm using this atop another pillow in my lap and the Flipy stays in place rather well. I can poke and swipe my tablet with as much force as I want and Flipy stays put and supports my tablet nicely. I've used this with a Kindle Fire HDX and an iPad Air 2, and it fits both nicely. My carpel tunnel is really happy with this lap stand and I'm able to enjoy tablet time without any cramps or issues. Flipy is soft when squished but very firm and holds its shape. It's lightweight and looks well made. What sold me on it was the design, viewing angles, and most importantly, the stability it offers. I personally haven't found anything better suited for my needs. I was given this free in exchange for an honest review, which was nice because this isn't cheap. Though I have to say, after trying it, the cost seems worth it if you need something sturdy and functional. Beats wasting money on something cheaper that doesn't work.

I wasted time trying anothers brand and returned it. The description even said super soft. It was very scratchy. Half the price but you get what you pay for, this is perfect! They really researched the angles and it shows. I can lay almost flat and comfortably be on my iPad. It’s suede like so incredibly soft. Love it!

Whoever designed this had to be a woman! Sorry guys but this is the most practical and comfortable lap stand ever! My husband stole mine immediately and number two Flipy is on its way. The cover is soft and washable and the lighter blue is a happy color. I love using the Flipy for my iPad when I am reading, playing my music, watching a movie and mostly using it in the kitchen following a recipe on my iPad. It has various angles to read easier. My neck gives thanks to the designer. The Flipy will not disappoint I give this one a 5 or excellent review.

I came across this product by chance- I didn't know such a thing existed. I knew right away that I needed it. I have not been disappointed! I have been using it with my phone and my tablet. I like the different angles you can get by 'flipping' it around. It is a quality product. The cover material is soft and plush. It is a thick wedge product that seems as firm as a couch cushion with a memory foam-like material. I plan to buy more for gifts!! Note: The photos include my Fire HD 8.

If I think about ALL the times I've had my iPad (which is in a non-slick leather cover, by the way) slide off whatever pillow I had it propped up on while in bed, all the times if fell off my lap while reading on the couch...all the times my hard iPad screen fell forward and whacked me in the face while lying in bed because I didn't have it propped securely and at the right angle...and all the times I had to rig up some sort of structure to get the proper viewing height and angle for a lengthy FaceTime call, only to have to do it all over the following day...I just shake my head at myself at all of the trouble and aggravation I put myself through...for over a DECADE! My iPad's current leather cover even props it up at various angles....but it just does NOT cut it, as it still managed to slide or hop off of my lap. NOT fun when you're comfortably tucked in bed! I stumbled onto this godsend purely on accident when I wasn't even looking for one, and took the leap of buying something I had never seen before...not at a friend's, in a store, or in an advertisement. SO glad I took the chance....I knew seriously within 30 seconds after opening the Amazon box that it was going to be one of the best $40.00 I had ever spent, and also knew this product would be getting A LOT of "mileage". I never use my iPad without it now, regardless of me being on the couch, in bed, or at my desk! I also needed to read an article in a magazine the other day and it held the thing down perfectly...both pages completely flat, as the curvature of the Flipy where the bottom edge of the magazine sat, is just so - that the curve and fabric held the page's edges down wonderfully somehow. I have impaired vision in one eye. As a result, sometimes things around the house don't end up where they should. I've sat down on the couch at least 5 times and accidentally sat down on this "pillow" as they're calling it, and thanked the product designer every time that it didn't have any hard internal parts in it! (And it doesn't even hint at losing it's shape after my doing so repeatedly, I should add.) Nothing has happened with my morning coffee as of yet, but I am thrilled that the cover comes right off (using the barely visible zipper) and goes right through with a load of wash when the time comes I am here leaving this review right now because I am ordering one for my Mom who uses her Kindle daily. It's her birthday and I know she'll totally love it. I'm also incredibly glad that I found this because she is SO hard to buy for! ("The girl who has everything") ...Well, she doesn't have THIS, so it will be fantastic to actually get her something that she doesn't already have...that I KNOW she'll love, and that she WILL actually USE. Whoever designed this deserves to live well from it's profits!

I hesitated to spend this much money for something I wasn’t sure would work well for me, but it’s one of the best purchases I have ever made. I have rheumatoid arthritis and polyneuropathy, both of which effect strength in my shoulders, arms and hands. It was beginning to be difficult to hold my phone or my reader or iPad. This has been a godsend. I spend a good deal of time in bed resting and I prop whatever device I am using on my Flipy. My hands are free from the weight of a device. I use it when sitting at a table to prop up devices. Several levels of positioning for devices. Great invention! Highly recommend!

The way the three sides are designed makes it possible to turn it to the most convenient configuration. I read in bed on my side and it has not been easy to find something to prop up the book. Have not tried it for reading in a chair yet but feel will work that way too. Very nice covering fabric--sort of a suede cloth--basically a gripping surface, prevents book sliding. Blue color is lovely.

I'm not a frequent pad or ireader user, preferring traditional paper media. This is the only lap stand that I thought could support both large and small, hard and soft cover books and offer some variety in the reading angle. I have tried it now with everything from heavy hardbounds, oversize hardbounds, trade paperbacks in American comicbook size and mass-market tankoban-size manga. It performs nicely with all these, whether you are sitting or reclining. The Flipy! itself weighs almost nothing, so no concern there, but is stiff and resilient enough to support your book in good reading position. I was happy enough to send a Flipy! to each of my two sisters.
