This is a VERY sturdy barn door slider setup. The instructions were very clear and logical, the hardware included was high quality and it took me about a half day to install this. It's been in use for about a month now and I absolutely love it PROS Heavy duty; the track is thick and strong (and heavy) Good instructions written by someone who apparently tested them! Wall spacers are thick steel bushings, not some cheap aluminum Well painted Good hardware, bolts and nuts are real and strong Grooved Wheels roll perfectly on the track Comes with the ability to mount into brick or a "stick built" wall (you need studs behind your wall). Mounting track is drilled out on 16" centers which will work perfectly if your home was built by a normal home builder * CONS Heavy (but that's a good thing) Lag Bolts are a bit short but they can be replaced if you have thicker walls *It is best to measure the spacing on your studs, while most homes are built on industry standard, some homes are built by crooks or amateurs who cheat this and space them much further apart.

Now that they are on 16 inch centers the hardware works well to create that sliding barn door. Didn't have to redrill the metal. Watch out for other companies that sell hardware with the predrilled holes on European standard lengths.

This is a great and money-saving way to get a great looking bard door. The hardware is every bit as nice and sturdy as any anything else for a much higher price. Instructions are pretty good but do require some patience and careful calculations. I built the door from 3/4 pine boards and painted it with home made chalk paint. I think it looks great!

I have a 30" arched doorway in my master bedroom that I needed to enclose to the master bathroom. Since it was so narrow I didn't want to put a door there, and it would had to have been custom made. I decided to do a barn door to cut down on the noise my wife makes getting ready in the morning. I built the door and needed hardware to hang it. The big box home improvement stores sell kits for $150+. There is absolutely no reason to spend the money on those, when this is half the price and functions exactly the same. Due to the stud location on the wall, I was not able to hit studs where the factory holes were. It would have pushed the bar too far down and wouldn't have been able to open the door the whole way. Here is where I made my mistake. I decided to drill new holes to line up with my studs and it worked fine. I have extra holes, but nobody has noticed them so it's not a huge deal. An even better way to do it, is to use a 1x backer for the bar to mount to. You can go to your local home improvement and pick up a piece of 1x6 (or any width you want). You mount the 1x backer to your wall and attach it to studs. Since the 1x is on the wall, you can mount the bar to that instead. 1x will have the strength to support your door easily since it's mounted to studs (I would use 3" high quality exterior screws two per stud.) I do plan to take mine down and do something similar so it matches the trim in my room. I like the hardware because it's very quiet, very heavy duty, and significantly cheaper than anywhere else. I did not use the guide for the door because I didn't want to drill in my new wood floors. I ended up buying a barn door wheel and having it modified to work for me. The guide would probably work great if you can use it. Just keep in mind you will need to run your door down the table saw to get a groove in it for the guide. It's actually pretty easy to do.

This hardware went up easily and works most excellent. I did learn this: 1) don't blindly trust the drill bit sizes it shows to use. 2) the track mounts well if there is not any door casing around the opening. I had to put a 1x4 on the wall to bring the track out far enough. Not a problem, and still looks good...just FYI. 3) the mounting holes are 16" o.c., many of the others are 17.25". Do put the first hole 1" from the case opening. My opening was 32" and I built a 40" door...worked like a champ. Although I did end up putting the open door stop on the outside of the last track bolt. I could have moved the roller brackets in, but I wanted them 8" from the edges. I'd recommend this one...

I am always worried when I buy a product whoes regular price is less than one third of the comparable products go for. This barn door hardware by SMARTSTANDARD blew me away. I’ve been searched over amazon for a compatible sliding barn door kit for a while, most of the feedbacks are complaining about the terrible direction with just a few pictures but without any text. It shocks me that this kit has a super great direction which includes all information that I need, and I’m pretty sure that even a ten year old boy or a home lady like me could assemble it easily. This kit is perfect. The components are all very well made by high materials and the kit contains everything needed for the installation. It works quite well with smooth operation of the barn door. Rail and hardware heavy duty. In the end, I decide to give five stars for the seller and their products and I am very pleased and would definitely buy again if I need another set!

This hardware looks great with our new barn door. It slides really easily. I only gave stars for install because the holes for the screws are 12 inches apart, when almost all studs are on the 16. As others noted you either need a block on the wall- or to add blocking into the wall. I wish I had gotten a longer hardware track for my 36” door, just so it could slide further- but that’s my personal preference. This did work fine for a 36” door as long as you know it will go end to end and can’t swing beyond the door frame (if that makes sense). Overall- very impressed with quality for the price!

I seldom write reviews. I was always put off by the price of hardware for a barn door but when I saw this one the price was reasonable. I purchased and hoped it would be OK. It is GREAT. Heavy, easy rolling. the holes to mount it are 16 inches on center so I had no problem drilling holes. If the holes don't hit on the studs I would recommend adding a 1x4 backer board painted the same color as your wall. This might leave a gap between the door and the opening so You could tear out your drywall and install bracing but that is a lot of work and then you'll have to patch the drywall. Also, you could drill new holes that match the studs and then put a decorative bolt in the old holes. I think we lucked out hitting studs. We did have to shorten the bar but a hacksaw worked fine. The finish is very nice. Even without directions a handy person could figure it out. i usually read directions after. the directions weren't great but the pictures were ok. We pre-drilled pilot holes and used a socket wrench to screw the bolts in. I would purchase again and highly recommend.

Outstanding product. Arrived in 4 days after purchase, extremely well packaged with no damage. Hardware is of very high quality and construction. The finish appears to be "powder coat" which makes it very durable. All parts were present and the smaller parts were packed in separate boxes.Unlike some instructions for similar products, these are exact, if you make a mistake it's probably because you did not read carefully. I did have to drill two holes in the track, my walls studs were not 16 inches on center, but this was not a problem. The standoffs would not allow the door to clear the door trim so I mounted a 1x4 to the wall and attached the hardware to that. This situation is covered in the instructions. The track is heavy and it is best to have an extra set of hands available, especially to get it level. With the header board attached to the wall, the lag screws provided were a little short (in my opinion) so purchased some longer ones to make sure I had enough hold to support the weight of the door (92 lbs). The quality of this product is EXCELLENT and so is the price. Similar products at the big box stores will cost you three to four times more. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. My wife wants more barn doors.
