I am a classroom teacher, and tend to have lots of things that need plugged in, need to be shown on an overheard, or pictures that may need to be downloaded. This does the trick. I am able to transport this from home to the classroom, and use in various places, along with having multiple things plugged in at one time. This is nice if you are deciding on a new Macbook Pro, and want to have everything in one, this is what you need to get. The price is also perfect for what you are looking for, and pairs well with my Mac. It's also small enough to transport with you, everywhere, and even comes with a little bag to put the item in. I slip it all right into the laptop sleeve. This is a nice purchase.

My daughter left for college this year and we got her a MacBook mini. It seemed like every time we had to get a peripheral device, we either had to pay through the nose for Apple branded products or deal with cheap junk. The problem is, it's really hard to tell what is good and what isn't and I've found some reviews on the subject to be much different from reality. In any case, she's home for the summer and we picked this up three weeks ago after a few friends highly suggested it. They were really gung ho about this having dealt with the same issue I mentioned above. In the past, two of the hubs we bought had the same problems. First, they didn't fit well. That was a real issue b/c nothing fit right, was loose and she was hesitant to even use them b/c things wouldn't stay connected right or she was worried the ports would be damaged. The also got hot which really didn't make much sense to me. And then they were not made well. They felt flimsy and although she was reluctant to use them, they didn't last anyway. When I got her the Totu, she said "Thanks Dad, but ..." and I could hear the doubt in her voice. I pointed out our friend said it was great so she was a lot more comfortable with it. The first thing you'll notice (esp if you've dealt with many others) is that it feels solid while still being light. I can't put my finger on it exactly but it feels like you'd expect it to - not too heavy and by no means flimsy. The first test was to plug it into the dual USB C ports (and while there's nothing keeping it from working on a Windows computer, unless it has the dual ports the same distance you won't be able to use it). It fit RIGHT. This should be a given but the previous two just felt like they never were even tested. The fit was snug, so that it'll stay in place but it's not rigid. That alone led us to feel a lot more confident about it. That was the computer side, but we tried to plug in her iPhone charger, a HDMI cable and USB drives as well as a SD Card (We didn't try the micro SD card b/c we didn't have one but I'm pretty sure it'll be just as solid as the rest was). Since you're giving up to C ports to use it, it the C ports weren't available or sturdy it'd be a total deal breaker. But it was great. You can plug a cable in as well so that you can charge USB A or B devices which you may need to charge many devices. The other item was the HDMI cable. I can't tell you how annoying it was to connect her computer to one of the monitors and watch the blur/flicker b/c of a bad connection. After three weeks there hasn't been anything problematic in the least. In fact, she's been taking the laptop around with her throughout the day and she's used this quite a bit. It's small enough that it's very travel friendly but not so small that it's cramped. The size you see is what you get. There's a nice little pouch for storing things and that's a nice touch, just to keep things clean and organized. All in all this was a very pleasant surprise and I'm glad we had it suggested so highly b/c after the other two, there's no way I was going to buy a cheaper one but I was hesitant as heck to shell out the money for individual apple components.

I needed this adapter to watch my macbook on my 4K TV. It makes things effortless. The quality of the connection is very high. The speed works very fast. The connection fits easily and the setup takes seconds. I lent it to my teacher so they could use it for class presentations and they loved it so much they went and bought one for themselves. There review is that it makes life easier with the 7 in 1 HUB. This adapter does it all and works when you need it to. Very reliable and practical to carry in the laptop case. I am excited that this kind of technology is available now for a low price. It seems to be built strong like it wont break or malfunction. Excellent build quality and components used. I would highly recommend it to someone looking for an adapter to watch videos or transfer files.

Used with the macbook pro with 2 USB-C ports on the side (this is mandatory, since the device has 2 USB-C connectors sticking out from it where you plug it into the side of the macbook. Lightning and HDMI connectors work as expected, 3 USB 3.0 connectors work fine, and 2 card readers - only checked the small one. So far so good. This is perhaps the 4th hub I've bought and the only one that didn't have either power or video issues. Well done.

This USB adapter Hub works well, it operates exactly as it should and adds a great deal of functionality to the two USB C ports on the side of the MacBook. I used this on a 13" Space Grey 2017 MacBook Pro with Touch Bar. The color matches very well with the laptop, allowing the additional functionality without detracting too much from the look of the MacBook. There is the logo of the company on the top of the hub which I think would be better if it was in a more hidden place, but it's not a dealbreaker. The hub is very well built, it has a good weight to it and it definitely feels like it will last at least as long as your laptop. On the side of the hub there is a little white LED to let you know that the hub is receiving power, which is a nice little addition. In summary this is a great hub, it would be great for someone who travels a lot and does not want to carry a bunch of different adapters. There is also an included carrying case, which is nice to see. The build quality is very solid and as I mentioned it functions exactly as it should, making it a great product overall.

This is convenient for using multiple ports and multi tasking. Having a slim computer is nice for traveling but it lacks all of the ports needed. This solves that problem. It also has a carry bag.

I've got one of the newer MAC PRO which has USB C connectors and HDMI tv and other gadgets home, this was one of my specific requirements for a laptop, however the smarter and efficiency they make them then the best performance ports you tend to get. This adaptor provides a wealth of connectivity options via a single USB C port. I've found it particularly useful when out and about as due to having a card reader built in as well, I can copy photos from my camera directly from the card whilst also being able to hook my phone up to the laptop at the same time via a standard USB port. The other big advantage is that I have a good mains USB charger that can connect to this and fast charge the laptop and all connected devices at the same time due to it's USB C input port. The unit is smaller than it looks in the picture which is a good think - its really compact and fits nicely in my laptop bag and is very light weight.

I bought this for my son to use on his 2018 model MacBook Pro 13. I was shocked when he told me about the lack of ports. This small sized attachment has made it so he can connect our older USB drives and the newer devices that use the faster and newer C ports. It plugs into the side two USB C ports and actually stays in place well. I did tell my son to not have the computer and hub on the bed or couch that could cause the Hub to bend if presser down at an odd angle. I found a lap board that the computer with hub can sit on a flat firm surface. HDMI port is awesome and located in a good place. Card reader slots and USB’s make it a very usable add on.

This is the first MacBook dock or USB-Hub I have bought. This small device made my life much easier by adding multiple USB ports along with an HDMI port. This unique unit fits my MacBook 2016 perfectly on the side (picture added) and adds 2 x USB type A, 2 x USB type C, 2 x Card readers and a HDMI port. It doesnt require additional charge but if you need to charge your MacBook, you can charge and use the dock at the same time via one USB-C port. As I frequently buy tech items and I heavily rely on them, I tested all the ports even before I started to use it on daily basis. All ports worked perfectly. While using, a lot my USB-C devices gets hot but this device remains surprisingly cool so their heating control must be adequate. This is easily one of the best purchases as the price is really good for atleast 30% cheaper than most of the other products of similar type. The only downside of this hub is it charges the laptop at 70%-80% speed of original Apple charger. I can live with that because this is mainly a docking device which is supposed to be used at home or office. Also, if you are carrying your laptop be sure to handle it carefully as it directly connects to both the USB-C ports and putting pressure might not be the best decision.

I have a Macbook Pro and a HP laptop. Unfortunately, this product only fit the Macbook Pro as they described, so I'm not surprised. The 4k HDMI port works perfectly, the screen is crystal clear. All other ports work as well! Worth every penny for this USB Adapter.
