Perfect Little Drive

This is a great, affordable exterior DVD-RW hard drive. I use this with my Lenovo,which doesn't have its own CD drive. It runs Window 8 (so far I've managed to dodge Windows 10).It's slender and fits right in the side-pocket of my laptop bag without taking a lot of room or weight. It loads automatically on its own, without needing to download a driver. Opens easily. Plays and burns music CD's, reads and writes data CD's just fine, plays DVD movies, and loads quickly without a lot of buffering. Movie quality was as expected. No issues with playback.I received this product for free in exchange for a fair and unbiased review. It in no way influenced my review of this product.

Compact and works great

My son is so happy with this nice gift. it is lightweight, easy to use and save space, just plug usb into laptop and after a couple seconds its ready run. Now he can enjoy the movies that he borrow from the library. If you are in need of an external dvd drive this one works and is not overpriced. That's it. Pretty simple. Love it so much. The viewing and sound quality was excellent; the video played perfectly with no lag.I recommend buying this!

External CD drive works great

I am very pleased with the quality over all and it was just a matter of plugging it in.This drive is a typical notebook disc drive in an external enclosure. It works good as a CD or DVD reader and does a good job as a burner.It uses two USB cables to work, an a type data cable and a bullet style cable for powerThis product is wonderful, works perfectly, has high end capabilities at a low end price and even comes with software to view DVDs on Windows 8 as well. Unless you are using this for something more than what the average user needs, you really can't go wrong.

a good item

The CD/DVD works fine on my Win 10. I marked it off for something that could be a problem for others. I missed that it says to plug it directly into the USB on the computer or it may not work if you connect it with any extension USB cable. Well it comes with a very short (maybe 7 or 8") USB cord stored conveniently on the back. The problem is I use a laptop on my lap. So sitting in the chair there is nowhere to put the CD/DVD without an extension cord. I ordered the extension cable and as I now realize it doesn't work. So I'm not sure what I'm going to do with it.

It works very well

I bought this because my MacBook Pro (13.4" with Retina display) doesn't have a CD/DVD drive and I wanted to copy all the music I have on CDs into my iTunes library.So this came in the mail, I plugged it into my MacBook's USB port, popped in a music CD and -- somewhat to my surprise -- it automatically opened iTunes and asked me if I wanted to copy the CD into my music library. The quality is great, it is easy to use, and the price is wonderful. You can't beat it if you are just needing it occasionally like me. If you are needing something for longer periods of time then perhaps I would invest in something a little more expensive.

Works well so far

The External CD Drive with USB plug and play is a ultra slim 3.0 drive. This is super convenient to use when you work on computers or in my case my computer doesn't have a CD drive.The 3.0 USB CD Driver is pretty when i receive it. I check it with my laptop and it works well. Everything are good except the shipping date is a little long. But i am not very urgent so its ok. If you think you need it, you can buy it earlier.I could say it does exactly what it says. It just works, and is amazingly simple to use.

This drive works and is handy for use with a notebook or—as in my case—as a second drive for a desktop computerThe drive is USB powered, requiring no separate power supply. Note that the manufacturer warns against attaching via a USB hub. I'm almost tempted to take off one star for the permanently-attached, kinda short, cable, but it does assure that you have one and at this price point it's hard to quibble.Running Windows 10, the unit was usable as soon as I connected it. I had no trouble burning data to several CDs. Just to torture the drive, I tilted and inverted it while writing, and it remained unfazed.Inserting a music CD, it played fine.

Very good DVD drive

There are a few reviews on here from people, to be clear I bought this out of my own money after reading the reviews.When it first arrived I got a little worried - the box it came in had another brand name on and the instructions were very badly translated into English. It's slim enough to fit in the leave for my notebook but has all the performance of a built in drive. This drive strikes the right balance between cost and function so I am more than pleased with it - I would be perfectly happy to use one of these as my primary disk drive for my PC and thoroughly recommend this product.

Love it so much

This is a very good Ultra Slim Portable External CD and DVD RW and ROM drive. The product comes in a good packaging and speedy delivery (Amazon Prime) . Its a plug and play device and is very easy to use. I plugged it to my laptop and the Windows 10 operating system detected it immediately and did all the necessary driver installations and it was ready to use in no time. It is a vey slim design, looks cool. It is very prtable due to its sleek and slim design, also like a small book . I reads DVD`s and CD`s.Great product first class service very pleased.

GREAT ADDITION TO MY LAPTOP DEVICES.

I just received this item two week ago and I had to test it out right away too...lol! I already love it!!! I didn't need to install the CD software that came with it; I merely connected it up, popped in a DVD and it worked. I even tried one that wouldn't read in my internal drive (which stopped functioning altogether) and it played without any issues. I love how compact it is and the design in general is very attractive. The cord is a little short, but it's not a problem for me. If you're in need of a DVD/CD drive for whatever reason, give this a try. If this device turns out to not work in the future then I'll certainly update my review. However, I highly hope that it doesn't. I also hope that this review was helpful to at least on person out there.
