Quieted our two dogs

I was skeptical that this would work as we had a hand held unit that had little affect on our dogs. Both our dogs are barkers (Terrier mix and Rhodesian Ridgeback mix) who would bark at every passer-by and would not only bark, but jump and slam up against the door whenever we had a delivery. It was nice as our dogs kept the solicitors away, but unfortunately their barking and jumping also kept food deliveries, mail and UPS from coming to our door and we had to meet them on the driveway or at the curb. It is the fourth day that we have had this unit in place and our dogs have not had a barking episode since. The unit will activate if their are loud sounds, but our neighborhood is pretty quiet and it only goes off when the dogs bark. We can tell right away when the unit activates as the front led light turns on. This bark control is the best control device that we have used so far and it works 24x7 unlike our handheld unit.

Best one yet!

I have tried a few of these types of devices over the years, and this one seems to be the best one yet. I bought that white one that looks like a log, but it was garbage (kept going off at nothing and killed batteries every 3 days). This unit, on the other hand, seems to only go off at the dogs and the batteries are going strong. I will update my review after further testing.

Very useful in preventing barking at the door.

It works well, but it seems to work better the lower it is. We have it a little above their head level. There were immediate results, but recommend leaving it off if the TV or radio is on. Otherwise, it can go off unnecessarily. Also, using this to in combination with positive reinforcement like treats or praise when the stop barking has been a very effective combination.

This Anti Bark device is a miracle!

OMG this anti bark device actually works! It was a bit strange when I turned it on because she just shut down. At first my baby didn't know what was going on. She continued to try to bark but was shut down INSTANTANEOUSLY! I'm emotional because I feel bad, BUT it is so peaceful!

It works!

I’ve just used it for a couple of days now and can already tell the difference. One of my dogs already doesn’t want to bark, the other still does it but less. As others have mentioned it sometimes activates with other noises, so if there is going to be other noise In the room, I turn it off to give my dogs a break and not confuse them. I can definitely see this being helpful when I move to an apartment and leave my dogs alone to ensure they’re not bothering other tenants.

It works but can be a little sensitive to other noises

We've only had this product for a few days now, but we could tell it was working right away. We've only tried the low setting, which one of our dogs seems to be immune to, but two of our other dogs noticeably respond to the device when it activates. We're going to try the other settings soon to see if that makes all of our dogs responsive. As it says in the manual, try not to put it in an area where there's a lot of noise normally, like in a living room where you watch TV, because the TV will likely activate it frequently and just drive your dogs crazy. The goal to be to have it activate only when your dog is barking, to create negative reinforcement of that behavior. The sensitivity to its activation would be my only criticism to this point, but I'll update this review in a few weeks.

Worked like a charm

I love my german shepherd, but her protectiveness drives me crazy sometimes. She has taken it upon herself to rid our back courtyard of birds and squirrels. Anytime critters chance to land in that area she barks continuously until they leave. The problem is that I like to sit and meditate in the room that looks out on our back courtyard. I have tried training her to be quiet, with treats, etc., which sort of worked, but required me to be ever vigilant with treats on hand. I installed the Modus anti-barking device on the door knob of the french door where my dog barks and set it on low. Next morning during prayer time I turned it on and hoped for the best. Dog came into the room, spotted a bird, got one bark out, heard the sonic device and was out of the room like a shot. She didn't cry out or otherwise react as if she were in pain. I think the noise just startled her and was uncomfortable. The best part is that this approach does not require me to be the direct source of the discomfort. When dog makes the connection between her barking and the weird noise, it will be entirely self-correcting. Thus far I am very pleased with the performance of this device.

Works as expected a little tricky with a needy dog like mine

Works as expected but my dog is very needy he’s still 3 months and very very active Where ever we go he follows. So in the night if we put a barrier he barks n barks With this device he barks and little and stops but he keeps doing it every now and then. Hope my dog will learn soon and not hurt his hearing

OMG - AMAZING!!

Wow!!! It really works. I wish I had known about this earlier. We moved into a condo and our pointer would bark constantly when we were away at any outside noise. I attributed that to relocation/separation stress but the neighbors were complaining. I get it - it's innocuous! Today we saw a complete change..some knocked, she barked, shook her head and DID NOT JUMP on person! Amazing change in one situation! Btw...we placed it in kitchen, away from tv and have had no issues with any noise outside of a bark!

I had borrowed a friends device similar to this one and it worked so well decided I needed one. I found this one on Amazon. It was delivered last Friday and we’ve had no “beagle howling” since the . Great product.
