New pantry shelves

Updating 4-21-16 from 3 to 5 stars. After a couple of email exchanges with "Xena", she informed me that my replacement shelf would be shipped and gave me an estimate of when it would arrive. It arrived, as promised. However, the outside of the package was again significantly damaged, so it was with trepidation that I opened the box. Inside were two shelves! I was only expecting one. And, as luck would have it...one was damaged and one was not. Long story short, by sending two shelves they were able to ensure that I had one up damaged shelf to complete my unit.the unit looks great and I am quite pleased. 😌 Preliminary rating:3 stars I bought this as part of my kitchen remodel, for use in my new pantry. The box arrived quicker than I expected...only a couple of days after I ordered it. The outside of the box has a big warning to inspect the box for damage...and sure enough there was a big tear in the cardboard. The instructions say to document the damage, but go ahead and put it together, both of which I did. This was a one-person job, due to the size of my pantry relative to the size of the shelving unit. I had to assemble the unit inside of the pantry with only a few inches of wiggle-room in terms of width and depth (height was no problem). Getting the bottowm shelf assembled was challenging, because I opted to use the wheels and everything kept moving around. Once I got the bottom shelf in place, however, the rest was easy. Several times i positioned a shelf, but then decided to move it up or down. The clip-on shelf supports made this easy. To be sure, these aren't the same quality as a real Metro shelving unit, but the lightness made it easier to assemble. No rubber mallet needed. Back to the damaged box. When I got to my top shelf (which is the bottom of the box and also where the box was damaged), I found that several wires were significantly bent. I have contacted the vendor and requested a replacement of the shelf. I'm curious to see how this works out, because the instructions on the outside of the box make it sound like I will have to file a claim with the carrier. Ugh. That's not what I expected from a Prime order; I will update the stars on this posting when this is resolved. If it's easy, the Stars will go up because I don't have any issues with the product itself. The pantry "looks freaking sweet" according to my 20-something daughter.

It made my items organized

It is easy to assemble. It is not really heavy duty compared to the shelves I bought from Costco, but I wanted a black color this time.

I was looking for a large sturdy shelf to hold my shipping supplies

I was looking for a large sturdy shelf to hold my shipping supplies, and this certainly fit the bill. It feels quite sturdy and is big enough to hold quite a bit of stuff, as shown in the photos. For the price, I think this is an exceptional deal as many places charge twice as much. I will say shipping is a little slow when you are used to the two day prime; however, it still arrived a couple days quicker than the estimate. Installation Notes: Installation is simple, as long as you watch what you are doing. It requires no tools, and you are essentially attaching plastic 'holds' to the poles and sliding them into the holes on the shelves. At first I thought the poles were really tough to get into place until I realized that I was putting them on upside down. The plastic pieces are actually larger on one end than the other. Make sure that both pieces are attached at the same place and in the same direction. If it feels really tough to place the pole in the shelf hole, than you need to flip the plastic pieces the opposite direction. Also, make sure that you 'measure' or eyeball exactly where you want to put the shelves. As you can see in my photo, I didn't, and ended up with a really large bottom shelf. This worked out fine for me, but it is harder to remove the shelves than to install them, so if you mess up the bottom shelf you will have to remove all of them and start over. Also, when I first received the item I thought I was missing the 4 stable feet. I saw the wheels, but no feet attachments. They were already screwed into 4 poles, so the poles with black on the bottom are the feet; if you don't want those, you can use the wheels.

My third set of these I have purchased to organize my garage and they go together easily enough that one person, myself, can build in a very short period of time. I have not used the roller wheels on the bottom, as of yet, but may decide to do so later down the road.

Great shelves for the workshop. Handles a heavy load and rolls pretty easy.

I have the black shelves. They went together quickly and easily alone. A couple extra parts included just in case you break a few clips. I'm using this as a drying rack for various lumber and woodturning pieces and it easily holds up the weight advertised (and more). Even while overloaded, the rack rolls around the garage easily. No issues with fit and finish. happy with the purchase and I'll most likely be buying another.

this is a great shelving unit for the price of what you get

this is a great shelving unit for the price of what you get: 6 shelves and casters. It is not a heavy duty one where you can climb on and if you load the weight in the center it will sag. It is what you expect from a wire shelving unit and will save you space. Use common sense and it will surpass expectations. Load heavy items to lower shelves and near the legs where there is more structure support. It is what you see in the picture.

Bought two of these on 12/7 and received them 12/9. Hubby and I put them both together in an hour or less with no tools. Could be assembled by one person, but was easier with two. They look great and seem to be very sturdy. The wheels appear to be heavy duty. I compared prices all around and these were easily the best deal AND they had wheels, so it was a win-win for me! I bought these for storage for my eBay store and will be buying more. Edited to add that I bought 2 more and they were just as awesome! I paid $77 each for these and now they're priced at only $59. These are THE best deal for attractive, study, shelves on wheels!

Durable and easy to assemble. Using it to store my tools and fishing equipment. Got a lot of heavy stuff on there and it has been very sturdy.

Awesome garage shelving

I have purchased two and am getting ready to purchase three more for my garage. Assembly took about 15 minutes and the shelves are sturdy. I ran over one with my car and bent it but it still works just fine. The wheels are an added bonus and make it super easy to move the shelves to clean and sweep underneath them. 6 months later and they are still working great! I store everything from vehicle maintenance products to tools to canned food on them. Still highly recommended.
