Probably doesn't protect your phone much, but it is pretty.

I just got a new iPhone XS Max in gold, and wanted a slick looking case. This lil guy doesn't come in a fancy box or anything, just a plastic pouch. Was fairly easy to get on to the phone with no damage to phone and case. The gold of the case matches the gold of the iPhone almost perfectly. The black part is like that soft matte rubbery stuff, not sure what you call it. It's nice to the touch but it picks up fingerprints like CRAZY. Looks like I grabbed my phone after eating a bag of chips. The gold parts are just plastic, I suspect that the nice fancy gold coloring will rub off after a minimal amount of time. It does look nice though, and goes really well with my popsocket. I feel so well coordinated with this case! Bottom line: It's really pretty, but it may not protect your phone if dropped. Doesn't feel like it has any cushioning or shock absorbance. I purchased an Otter Box separately to protect my phone better when I'm out and about. But hey, that's what Apple Care is for, right? :P
