Updated review - It's a great camera for the price, and getting it with the really sturdy base and solid protective case makes this a steal! It's very clear up to very high magnification, and takes very good pictures with good resolution. I have only used it plugged into my computer using a USB cable. I downloaded the software from their website- it's easy to use, and allows you to snap pictures by clicking an icon in the app with your mouse button. You can't focus the camera using the app though - you have to raise and lower the camera up and down the base pole to get closer to the object, then, for precise focusing, you have to turn the body of the camera like a binocular focus wheel. There are also buttons to zoom, the power button, and an LED light control wheel on the body of the scope, that you can't run with the app. They work fine, I would just prefer to not have to touch the body of the scope all the time. The one big problem I had was the 2 screws that are supposed to tighten onto the camera to hold it in the base were not long enough- but the seller will send you long screws if you have already purchased this - until the hardware is fixed in future packaging. The pictures I included are of the screws I installed, and some pictures I took with the scope and its xploview software/app. - update after using for a few days- this camera is very sturdy in the base, and takes good pictures - it seems to automatically color correct sometimes though, which may be my computer and not the camera, because it doesn't always do it. I'm very happy with this purchase.

This microscope is beyond amazing! It works on my Samsung Galaxy 8 and on my IPad! My original Jiusion digital microscope (not WiFi) did not work on my IPad. I bought this microscope so that I can identify pests on my herbs, flowers, and vegetables. It can be handheld or used with a stand that comes with the set. The microscope is capable of taking photographs by pressing the microscope camera button or by pressing your phone camera button. It is simple to set up and the instructions are very clear. Sometimes your wifi will disconnect and you will need to use your hotspot so watch the data because if you are like me, you will get carried away exploring. The camera has many zooming capabilities and the pictures are clear. You can also take videos. You can zoom by hand, focus and take a photo, or zoom, then press a side button on the camera to zoom even more to 1.2x, 1.4 x 1.6 x and then take a photo. The stand that is included can also be bought separately. The stand is perfect. It is well made, solid metal parts and easy to assemble. My only complaint is that I wish it were just a bit heavier so that it wouldn’t move when I accidentally touch it to hard. AND – customer support is amazing! I have contacted them numerous times via email and each time, my questions were resolved quickly, usually within 12 hours. Great camera, fantastic price, and worth every penny. Highly recommend

I took my time to review this scope, mostly for the build and I would say, it is worth it. Pros: The device gives you the flexibility of working remotely, so if you need to take pictures of your slides every minute for 1 hour, you can assess the pictures remotely. The build is quite excellent, especially with the stand and the protective casing, you cannot go wrong with the purchase. Image quality is as expected, no surprises. The software works seamlessly with Windows unlike previous software versions that are barred by Windows security Cons: the device is held in place on the stand by 2 knobs which makes the camera always seem to be in a slanted position. The knobs that hold the camera in place on the stand have somewhat little tips and may give the camera some cosmetic marks with continued mount and dismount to the stand. I wish the base of the stand had clips that could hold slides in place. Overall: it is beautifully made and worth the cost.

Great image quality, good features for my needs (took a while to figure them out). Unexpected capability for infinity focus makes it a telescope as well as a microscope (first image)! I used it as a microscope to diagnose my 3d printer hot end jam by pointing it up from the print bed at the hot end with the nozzle removed (last image). Very helpful! A few issues worth mentioning: I plan to work out a standard ¼" tripod mount so I can use it in the telescope mode to monitor my 3d printer over wifi. I did confirm that it works over wifi with the usb cable plugged in to a power brick, but not into my Mac which shifts it to usb mode. It took many hours and support emails to figure out how to shoot stills and video in untethered wifi mode. Everything worked with my iPhone 6s+ and my iPad2 with the recommended software (DM WiFi) up to the point of taking the shot, which failed to show up in the DM WiFi Capture Files. It worked fine on my sister's Android phone. I eventually discovered that DM WiFi only fails to show items in its own Capture Files, but DOES store them in the iPhone or iPad2 Photos library. I found all the test shots! Good to know if you are having similar issues. Hope this gets fixed. According to tech support this isn't a problem with iPhone 8 & later. Clicking the camera button in wifi mode gives a different visual response (only a slight dimming) in wifi mode than on my Mac in Photo Booth where I get a countdown, a button color change and a shutter sound. Confusing. I hope to see a user manual with much better information soon. The lack of a 3rd screw on the stand to keep the camera level was already covered in other reviews. A standard tripod mount, or at least a way to turn the camera sideways, would be a great addition to the otherwise very nice stand. For the money, a five star product with good tech support, and no flaws I can't work around.

Bought this for my grandchildren and decided to keep it and order another for the grandchildren. Very well made, easy to operate, quality images for this type of device and price range. I especially like that I can use it with my iPhone or iPad using the WiFi feature combined with the free Apple iOS app. I had some initial challenges getting the iMac USB connection to take pictures using the MacOS app but an email to Jiusion customer support got an immediate response with a link to a more updated app that works perfectly. I have enjoyed using it to examine insects and other plant damage in the garden. I have been using a Petri dish with kale leaves to observe the development of a cross-striped cabbageworm moth over several days. The entire platform assembly is well made, compact, and stable making it a nice feature on any desktop for easy access. I have also separated the digital microscope from the stand and carried it around the garden using low magnification with the iPhone app for viewing using the WiFi connection to look at objects closeup and take pictures. The iPhone 11 Pro with telephoto camera and digital zoom can do a great job with some types of macro photography, but this digital microscope is so much easier to use when taking specimens indoors to examine closely using a stable platform assembly with the iPhone as a viewing screen. The grandkids will certainly enjoy using it.

I bought this microscope mainly for inspecting my record player stylus. It meets my needs very well. The WiFi feature is easy to implement and works very well with my iPad. Plus, I am forever finding new things to examine closely with the microscope, making it even more useful and fun. It was shipped with an aluminum stand that holds the microscope securely and provides stability to the viewed image versus how it would appear in the hand-held mode of operation. However, there was one small issue with the stand. The screws that are supposed to hold the microscope in the stand were too short for that purpose. I contacted Jiusion by email about the issue, and received a very prompt response with an apology for their mistake and a promise to ship me the proper screws. While waiting for the longer screws to arrive (just a few days), I improvised a work-around solution using 4 felt drawer bumpers spaced 90 degrees apart around the perimeter of the stand’s mounting ring. That worked very well at holding the microscope in the stand and affording adjustability vertically and rotationally. The screws arrived as promised and performed as intended when installed. Jiusion greatly impressed me with their quick response and extraordinary customer service. I have rarely seen anyone so helpful and accommodating. In summary, I am highly pleased with this microscope and it’s stand. It works. It’s fun. It’s affordable. Jiusion is just great! I highly recommend this product and Jiusion.

I added the earlier version of this product, the 4x1000, to my Christmas list on Amazon. My daughter took the bait and I was delighted to receive the product. I was very impressed with the quality of construction and enjoyed using it to inspect a wide variety of tiny objects. My only disappointments were the teeny tiny manual and the not too rigid stand. I contacted the seller and he was very helpful in sending me a link to a full-size manual online. While I was looking for a new stand I ran across this newer 5x1000 version with a very nice stand and a lot of new features and I ordered it immediately. The new stand, with its rack and pinion adjustment, is as solid as you could ask for, and yet it is small enough to allow you to break it down and put in the case with the camera and tools for field work. I found that by loosening the lock screw on the column you can swing the camera to the side for photographing small objects on a larger item. The microscope itself is a tremendous improvement! The Wi-Fi makes it very easy to use with my Android tablet, or desktop. The camera and light controls are well-placed and easy to use. The zoom control works very well, but it is a little stiff and may turn the camera in the mount if you're not careful. You may want to consider putting a rubber pad opposite the two thumb screws in the circle to avoid this. The light has a broad range and is very easy to control. I have tried the AmCap and Xploview software as mentioned in the manual. So far, I prefer Xploview for the ease of use and settings for video, still photo, and stop-motion settings. You can even use the Windows 10 camera if that suits you better. One trick I have learned is to set the stop motion to 20 shots per minute when you are photographing an unsteady object, then pick the best one or two and delete the others. Overall, this is a great product with good support at a very reasonable price. Go for it.

This is a remarkable device that has utility as a field microscope. It has good optics, reasonably high resolution and can be operated off the built in rechargeable battery. The battery powers 8 LEDs which are placed around the lens to illuminate the sample being examined. At modest illumination, the working time is about an hour. The illumination can be adjusted with a rheostat to optimize viewing a particular sample. The zoom feature from 50-1000X is approximately correct if measurements are made on a 17” computer screen and compared to a printed micrometer ruler which is supplied. The zoom controls on the microscope body are useful to adjust the image size. The microscope is supplied with a convenient to use stable stand. Because of the WiFi feature of this unit, you can interface the microscope with a wide variety of viewing and recording devices. I tried it with a PC, desktop and laptop, a Pixel 2 phone, and an iPad. All worked smoothly For the money, this is a great little microscope and seems to be well built. There are improvements which would make this microscope even more attractive. First, the control buttons and black like the barrel of the microscope and are difficult to find in low lighting. If the buttons were white it would help. There is no stage for the microscope, so the user is left to innovate something. The base stand is not a good background for viewing the sample. A micrometer stage would also be helpful to move the sample, especially at the 1000X magnification. Even better would be a stage which would have diffuse light coming from underneath the sample, to view thin samples. Here are some sample images that I recorded with the camera feature using an iPad.

I bought the Jiusion WIFi USB microscope for knife sharpening. I Had tried several other USB microscopes, and this one is by far my favorite. I love that it can wirelessly connect to my iPhone, Android phone, and iPad. I did have some issues getting it to connect to a mac and a Win10 machine. I sent an email to the manufacturer and received a prompt reply which fixed my issue. As it turned out, I had a bad USB cord. I tried a different cable and the product worked flawlessly. The adjustable LED light as well as the zoom buttons have come in quite handy as well. I am very happy with this product overall, and would recommend it to anyone looking for a small portable mic.

I got the previous version of this microscope which doesn't work with an iPhone, and then upgraded to this wireless version which works with an iPhone and is fantastic because I can take it outside with me and use it anywhere! It's amazing to have such a powerful little wireless microscope that I can use in the field. I am an outdoor educator and naturalist so this is a valuable tool. It's also amazing that the microscope can even shoot images with tremendous detail at 1080p. Still, it's not a perfect. The microscope is fiddly and feels cheaply made (though better than the previous version), one zoom control seems to work and the other doesn't, and the light may not be adequate. I would love to see someone make a high-quality professional version of this item even at a much higher price point--that would be awesome! In the meantime, and for the price, this microscope is an incredible tool.
