H85 Trail Camera by Toguard I purchased this motion activated camera mainly to capture wildlife in our backyard. I love to see when the local deer come to visit, and I'm hoping to capture some video of a bear or moose as well. But it's wintertime here now and the backyard visits are less frequent, so I've discovered a new use for this camera. We have three cats that are getting up there in years. We are concerned about them eating enough because a couple of them are losing weight. So, I had the brilliant idea of setting up the trail camera next to their food dish. Now we can see who is eating, when, and how often. I know cats are supposed to be nocturnal and they do sleep most of the day, but I was surprised at the frequency at which two of these furry friends hit the old food trough. The third one only stopped by once in the morning and she is the one that is getting too skinny. Cat eating habits aside, this camera did exactly what it was supposed to. In nearly total darkness, it began recording as soon as a kitty walked into the frame. Being that the camera was so close to their food, they did notice the soft glow from the infrared LED lights. This is not an issue when the camera is setup outside as the dim red light is barely noticeable from a distance. But for this experiment, I did end up with some kitty nose prints on the LED screen. :) Probably my favorite feature of this camera is the WiFi capability. When you have one of these cameras outside or even up in a tree, it can be very inconvenient to get to it, open it up, and either retrieve the SD memory card or watch the videos on the built-in screen. Using the small remote control that came with it I can turn on the camera’s WiFi (even from a reasonable distance), connect to it with my phone and download the recordings. Pretty sweet! Plus, all of the camera settings can be changed remotely through the phone app. Installing and using the app went smoothly. The user manual walks you through the process in detail. You can see thumbnail images of your photos and videos directly from the camera, but to actually watch the videos and see the photos full-screen you will need to download them to your phone. This camera uses a full-size SD card (or a micro SD with a full-size adapter). I like this. The micro SD cards are difficult to handle and very easy to drop and get lost when you’re in the woods. The strap that comes with the camera is 6 feet long, so you can install it around very large diameter tree trunks. The camera is equipped with two tripod mounting inserts – one on the bottom and one on the back. So, you have more options for how you install it. Plus, it includes an articulating mounting bracket and plate with all the necessary fasteners. The user Manual is very well written and covers every detail about the various functions and how to operate. The display screen is sharp and clear with great color and the recorded image quality from this trail camera is absolutely superb. Even in night mode it captures every detail.

This Toguard trail camera has amazing quality photos, but I am actually blown away by the night vision video quality and the WiFi function. The photo quality is excellent during the day and night with this camera, but with the WiFi function, this camera is on another level. Whether you are using this camera to look at wildlife or as a security device, you will not be disappointed. The WiFi function allows you take photos and videos from your phone without being noticed. If you didn't know you were taking a picture with WiFi at night, you would never know there was a camera unless you were really looking. It does not seem there were corners cut making this camera and the technology is excellent. I actually love that the video files are mp4 because you don't have to convert files and can post them to social media immediately if you wanted to. One thing I do recommend is to read the instructions because there are so many different settings and if you want to save on your battery life, there are different ways to do so without compromising the quality of the photos. Overall I definitely recommend this camera and I believe it is worth every penny. If this review helped in your decision, please mark helpful.

My property borders some woods, so I really wanted to capture the wildlife action at night. I have a relatively large backyard, and I have the TOGUARD H85 WiFi trail camera setup just off my back deck. I love how easy this camera is to setup and all the menu options! This camera’s lighting will reach quite a ways, and in the attached photos it is lighting an area close to 100ft in depth, with the deer at least 30ft from the camera! The clarity of the pictures and video is awesome as well! The WiFi functionality allows me be inside my house and download all the pics too my phone, which is a huge bonus!!

I did a lot of research on this subject and chose this Toguard over the others. I am not a hunter but I needed something to catch our local visitors at night and in the early morning. We have property in Siver Springs, FL right on the Oklawaha River. My wife thinks it's a cat but I believe it is one of the monkees migrating down toward us from the Silver River. I studied the instruction booklet on the camera and found out how to set up the WiFi and IR, and it works really well so far. I can control the camera from my iPhone or the remote provided. Really well built for outdoor use. You will have to consult the booklet, but just follow the directions and it works as advertised! So far I caught a neighbor at our outdoor fridge, beer bandit no doubt. The night pics are excellent quality, I was a sensor operator (camera ball) on a CBP Predator B Drone aircraft and these pics rival the aircrafts resolutions. Very happy with this camera so far.

I see a lot of wildlife in my back yard coming from a large wooded tract behind my house. I see a lot of deer, turkeys, foxes, etc., so I bought this trail camera to capture some images and videos and to see what else might be lurking out there. The main reason I chose this camera is because of the WiFi feature. I wanted to be able to have access to the settings and the photos without having to take the camera down from a tree, or in my case, a fence post. This camera does exactly what I want it to do. I simply connect my phone to the camera via WiFi and I can change the settings, view and download the photos and videos to my phone and even delete photos and videos from the memory card - all from my iPhone. There's a QR code printed in the instruction manual and I just scanned that code with my phone which took me directly to the App Store to download the app. I download the photos from the trail camera to the app on my phone. From there I have lots of options. I can save the photos to my camera roll, email them, post them on social media, etc. - just like with any other photo on my phone. Also, I can retrieve the photos by using a card reader, or download them to my laptop using the USB cord that came with the camera. The settings are pretty robust. I can choose the image size/resolution of the photos and videos, choose the camera mode (photo, video or photo + video), turn on time lapse, etc. I can choose the length of the video I want to record, turn audio off or on, select whether to have a time stamp show up on the photos and videos, etc. One thing I really like, which seems small and insignificant, is that there's a little nylon string attached to the battery compartment door that makes it easy to open. My finger is too large to fit into that small of a space and on my other trail camera, I have to use a knife or screwdriver to get the battery cover off. On this camera, I just pull down on the string and the door lifts out for easy battery installation. Speaking of batteries, my battery life is still at 100% after four days. The camera hasn't been turned on continuously during that time, but I would have expected the batteries to be below 75% by now. The quality of the photos and videos are great, in my opinion. I put some deer corn out a few days prior to the camera being delivered to my house hoping that I might see one or two. As you can see by the photos, I have a whole lot more than that. Bottom line: I'm really happy with the features of the camera and the quality of the images it produces. If you're a hunter or just like viewing wildlife, this camera is a good choice.

We had been observing a new family of foxes and went looking for their den. My old trail camera no longer worked so I decided on this one and very happy I did. The first night with it helped confirm the den with great night vision. I did not even have the video set at its best resolution. Very happy with the purchase. Setup was easy (did not need the manual). The Wifi and Bluetooth worked great, though limited distance.

How I decided to do to test this camera was to find out who was going in to the trash at night while we are sleeping. The set up was across from the can and I set the camera to do video and pictures between 11 pm and 6 am. There were a lot of images and cute shots of the cats, some of which I'll print because they are great! The one video here is of who we thought was the culprit, but no evidence was recorded. The picture says it all though, Snuggie-Bear right in the trash bin! Caught! I added a couple more pictures that wee just cute. Time to get a lid for the can.....lol.

We see a lot of wildlife (deer, turkey, fox) on our security cameras and wanted to see them close up. On most nights, there are 3-8 deer a night. Our property borders several hundred acres of land and state reserve woods, so I really wanted to capture the wildlife action at night to show our daughter who loves to feed the deer every night. I put the TOGUARD H85 WiFi trail camera on a tree near my back garage. The camera was easy to setup and all the menu options are visible on the camera and the mobile app. I chose this camera because of the WiFi feature. I wanted to be able to have access to the settings and the photos without having to take the camera down from a tree, pull out the SD card and take it into the house to transfer the pictures and video. From the remote, you can enable WiFi and connect a phone to the camera Using the mobile app via WiFi and change the settings, view and download the pictures and videos to your phone and even delete photos and videos from the memory card. The battery life is still at 90% after six days with a decent amount of activity, kids, mowing and wildlife. I will probably purchase a solar pack for it since it does take 8AA batteries. The picture and videos quality is great. I’m considering purchasing another to put at the back of our property to see what others wildlife we have on our property!

I have used this item for the past few weeks. I had a perfect test sample animal to shoot. I found a beautiful tiny nest with 4 bird eggs in the center of one of my hanging plant inside my greenhouse. I got this trail camera set up on one of my unused camera tripod and it was perfect to have the camera pointed at the nest. I purchased 8 rechargeable AA batteries for $14 on Amazon. The birds activity would be very frequent and would trigger too many photos and videos to be taken and hence would use lots of battery. I used a 32 microSD card to save photo and videos which would be enough for me as I can transfer all the videos and photos onto my phone. With everything ready to go I downloaded the APP onto my iphone. The remote is used to turn the camera on so I can connect my phone to it through WIFI. This is a game changer as I can remotely connect to the camera. I do not have to get near the birds nest. I can connect through wifi and see live or i can connect and retrieve past videos or photos. Setting is straight forward and I was able to get it up and running after learning it for about 1 hour. Overall this has been an excellent opportunity to test this item over the past week. I was able to get to see the egg hatching to the birds feeding their 4 babies all the way to their exit from the nest. The app seems to need a little improvement, but it works. All the videos and photos can be transfered directly to my phone so I can delete the videos on the camera. All the settings are accessible through the App. The photo, video, and sound quality is very good and meets all my needs. The build quality is very good. It feels solid and all the latches, seals, and buttons are top quality. Connecting with the phone is very convenient, but you do not need a phone to use this item. The screen inside the camera is super helpful to review setting and review the saved videos and photos. The app works. Getting all the setting options remotely is great. Also the ability to transfer all recorded photos and videos to my phone is very convenient. There are a few bugs to the app but its super minor. Sometimes when i play videos, it gives me an error and states that the "recording is too short". I just need to restart the app and it works after. This is minor for me, but for some, restarting might be a turn off. So fixing these bugs would help maintain a good reputation for the TOGUARD brand. Updates to the user interface would be nice. I hope the company can offer a dark mode. Overall, the camera is super useful and for the price, its a deal.

There are many things that I like about this Toguard camera. Right out of the box I noticed that it came with an extra long strap, easy to open latches with large tabs, a mechanism to pad lock the camera, string to pull to open the battery compartment, large buttons that are easy to read and use, and it takes a full size SD card - no more losing little micro cards in the leaves! I was a little confused about how the WiFi would work, so here is how it works. The camera itself sends a WiFi signal that you can connect to with an app on your phone. You do not need to supply WiFi to the camera. You do need to be pretty close to the camera to get the signal. However, this is useful if you have your camera in a location that is not easy to access. You can use the provided remote to turn on the camera's WiFi and then connect to it with your phone. You can then view footage on the card and change your camera settings from your cell phone. If had a camera on a tree on a steep embankment, I could stand at the bottom of the bank to tend to the camera without climbing up the steep hill. This is a well designed camera with a reasonable price tag. Detailed instructions are included in the package. I have several Toguard cameras and have found their customer support to be responsive and helpful as well.
