Perfect lap desk for 15" laptops.
I picked up the new Acer Predator Helios 300 about a week ago. I had bought a cooling pad and was using that but I wanted something a little more comfortable for when I'm on the couch and whatnot. I was also hoping for something that could hold my mouse as well (I'm 30 years old which I know is super old, right? and my mouse wrist gets very sore after a long gaming session if it is not positioned correctly.) I spent a decent amount of time looking at all the available lap desks on Amazon. Whenever I seek a product out on Amazon, I am usually surprised at all the different options and features that I need to pick and this purchase was no different. If you are currently reading this review, you probably know what I mean. Well, let me tell you, I am sooo happy I chose this one. To try and keep the rest of this review concise, I am going to list what I like about it in bullet point format. Normally, this would be more of a Pros/Cons list but I honestly can't think of any real Cons for this item. - This lap desk is surprisingly light. My laptop is 5 pounds so I didn't want something that was going to add a ton of extra weight onto my lap and this lap desk seems to be the perfect weight. - Despite being light, it still feels very sturdy. I am sure the wood is some sort of particle board (I could be wrong but I don't think I am) but it still feels like it will hold up well. If I were to snap it over my knee, I am sure it would break but as long as it is not mistreated, I don't think it is going to fall apart. The bean/sand filled pads on the bottom are stitched well and the mouse pad area and the little stopper at the bottom that keeps your laptop from sliding down all seem to be well made. - I have a 15.6" laptop and it fits absolutely perfect on the desk area. I was a little worried about the size of the mouse pad but for day to day stuff, it is definitely big enough. When gaming, I throw one of my gaming mouse pads (that has a wrist rest attached to it) on top of the inlaid mouse pad and that setup works really well for me. It hangs over the edge a little bit, but does not hinder the use of the mouse in any way. - I am also very happy with the thickness of the board that the laptop rests on. From looking at the pictures, I actually thought it would be thicker but was pleasantly surprised that it was nice and thin. I don't want a lot of extra height added because that would make it harder to type properly (gotta avoid that carpal tunnel syndrome!) It is not too thin, where I feel like it will break easily but not too thick either. I think they found a good balance between sturdiness and comfort. - I have a Samsung Galaxy S10e phone and it is in a slightly bulky case and it fits vertically in the phone holder very well. It does not fit horizontally, unfortunately, but when I am playing a video or something like that, I just lay it in the phone holder a little askew and it is sufficient for my needs. I don't blame the company's design for this because if the holder were any larger, I think the entire lap desk would be too large and I am very happy with its current size. - The bean/sand filled pads on the bottom are positioned well and extremely comfortable. Sometimes my laptop will be in my lap for hours at a time. I have been using this for about 5 days now and I have never felt like it was uncomfortable to use or that it was going to fall off my lap. It is easy to move around and reposition, if necessary. - I also really like the handle at the top. It is nice little extra feature. Overall, I really think you will like this product. I am one of those people who spends a lot of time looking at my options and reading reviews, even for very basic stuff. After checking out, I usually get a little bit of anxiety until my package gets here because I really do not like having buyer's remorse. Amazon is really good about returns so it is not as big of a deal on Amazon as it is on some other sites but it is enough of a hassle to return something (finding a box, printing the label, going to the post office to drop it off, etc.) that I try to pick the right items the first time around. That is why I try to write reviews for items, especially ones that I like. People tend to only write reviews when something goes wrong and it can make it harder for other people to know if they should buy an item or not. So, I am just trying to do my part as an avid Amazon user to help other people make good buying decisions. I attached some photos with a pencil for scale. I hope you found this review to be helpful.

Great, comfy, lightweight, and looks nice too
I really like this lap desk, as a phd student I'm on my computer A LOT. On weekends when I have work to do, it's nice to not have to get out of bed so it still feels like a lazy saturday. Unlike others who said the ridge at the bottom didnt stop their laptop from sliding it works for mine. Only thing I would've liked was a ridge at the bottom of the mousepad. Otherwise when you move your hand to type it just slides right off. I just put mine in the phone holder at the top.

Love it!
I work from home but find myself sitting on the couch. For several days, I was torn between purchasing a small folding table, lapdesk, or a tray table with wheels. I decided that the tray table would give me the functionality that I need but would be too large/bulky. So after spending days looking for a lapdesk (most of them seemed small and didn't have space for a mouse) - I decided to take a chance on this one although it was kind of pricey and out of my budget. I am very happy I made this purchase. My laptop is 15.6" and I still have room for my mouse. This is also really light ( was able to raise the box it came in with one hand). The cushions at the bottom are also very comfortable. I had to spend an extra $20 but it was worth it!!!

Very pleased with this lap desk
I purchased the LapGear Home Office Lap Desk with Device Ledge, Mouse Pad, and Phone Holder - Silver Carbon - Fits Up to 15.6 Inch Laptops - Style No. 91585 I don't know why the negative reviews that I've read. I have an HP Pavilion 15 inch, needed something to help with cooling and a place to use a mouse. The laptop fits perfectly, doesn't slide off and the area for the mouse is easy to work on. My only complaint is when I let go of the mouse it slides off the lap desk. I fixed the issue by cutting a wide rubber-band and taped it to the long bottom edge of the phone holder, using electrical tape on the ends of the rubber-band. I just rest the mouse on the rubber-band when not using it. I can also have the phone in the holder and have just enough room for the mouse too.

COMFORT + CONVENIENCE = HAPPINESS
I was looking for something that would make it easier for me to work in bed or do online stuff in a comfy chair... this was the ticket. Wish I had gotten it sooner. I kept holding out thinking, I'm not going to be working in my bed for that long, this pandemic won't last forever... And then I got pregnant, so... Definitely needed the comfort and convenience of a laptop desk that wouldn't break the bank and was easy to use. I love that this has a spot for your mouse. Even when you aren't using a mouse - which is about half the time - the mouse pad is not at all "annoying" nor "in the way." I love the handle on the side because it's easy to pick up and carry around from room to room or get out of the way when cleaning. It's so light. I got the wooden look and it's really night, glad I got that one because we have an old house with lots of wood so it doesn't look totally disgusting if it's tucked under a table out of the way or something. It's got all those little features that you don't think you're going to care about until you own it and you're like, YAS. THIS IS SO NICE TO HAVE.

Great buy & perfect fit.
I'm really enjoying this lap desk. I debated for awhile on whether to get a lap desk or the kind like a bed table. I ended up just pulling the trigger on this, thinking that if I didn't like it I wouldn't be out too much money. However, it was a great choice, my laptop has found a home lol. Even though my laptop is larger, it fits well & I enjoy the mouse pad. And the side slot fits my phone & Firestick remote well. I think most phones would fit unless you have a bulkier case. I find myself using this in multiple positions - flat on my lap like standard, resting on the arm of the sofa, on my lap with knees bent as I lay back in bed. The only problem with that last position is the mouse slides off so I have to use the touchpad. I really like this desk!

This is such a great computer lap desk!!!
I wasn't sure about this lap desk when I ordered it. All I knew is that pillows weren't working to keep distance from my body and my laptop. When it came I thought, yeah this is okay. I got the grey one and it looks really nice. But I wasn't sure it would be comfortable. I'm so glad I stuck through my hesitation because this lap desk is seriously amazing!!! The laptop doesn't move around (like it did when I was using pillows or a blanket), the mouse pad is the right size, it's convenient to have a little place for my iPhone (though I don't use this feature all the time) and it looks attractive enough to keep on my bed at all times. I'm so surprised that I'm totally in love with it!!!

Great product
With me working from home due to the pandemic, my sleeping pattern has changed. I sleep late and wake up just in time to log into work. This has been perfect, I get this on my lap in bed and start working. I love that it has a mouse pad area which is just perfect. I love the little bump for the laptop that allows me to shift position without laptop sliding off. I wish the mouse pad area was magnetic surface so the mouse stays put, when I shift position, the mouse slips. Apart for that, this is a perfect desk to work in bed or on the couch.

Exactly what I was looking for!
This is awesome and exactly what I was looking for. It is super comfortable to use in bed and in a recliner that I typically write from. I am a writer who primarily sits with my laptop directly in my lap. I have been looking for something to put in between my lap and my laptop and this was perfect. It has a slot for my phone, but I could also prop some pens, a small bad, or other various items in there depending on what I needed. The mousepad area is great. The only tiny thing I am finding a bit tricky is that if you have it tilted even a little bit, the mouse will slide right off. It isn't the biggest annoyance in the world, so I didn't detract any points, but a higher lip at the bottom may have corrected this issue. Either way, this is perfect for me.
